What is La Luna
What does La Luna mean?
'La Luna' is Spanish for 'the moon'. My first name, Chandra, is a Sanskrit word that, depending on the translation, also means 'moon' or is associated with a diety living on the moon. One translation calls Chandra 'she who outshines the stars.'
This deity grinds the herb of immortality into 'soma' (which is the name of my other business, Soma Healing Arts-link), a nectar-like drink of the gods.
Chandra is also associated with rabbits, particularly the hare in the moon. Lunar energy rules rabbits and hares, and also water. My real life is a reflection of these elements. For example, I am actively involved in rabbit welfare, and have a passion for water.
The essence of who I am shines through all of my work. La Luna, then, refers not only to my name but to all the qualities associated with the moon: intuition, creativity, water, nurturance, dreams. I like to think of my work as illuminating what was formerly in the dark, bringing things to light.
